What will happen to turbo engine if the intercooler is exposed to rain water frequently?

Is it going to harm the engine & decrease the life span of the engine & is there any solution for reducing the rain water splashing in through the bonet scoop? Thanks.

Odds are, nothing. While there is a potential to get water into the combustion chamber through the intercooler, the air (mixed with water) is combined with the exhaust and passes over the engine. I would think that it would evaporate well before it got to the cylinder.

the intercooler isn’t supposed to let water in as it is sealed but make sure you don’t get water going into your air intake. if you have a filter (which you probably should) a few drops of rain through a bonnet scoop shouldn’t hurt, just make sure it doesn;t go through the intake.
