Thanks Mr. Dave, now I might be able to salvage my shitty tecumseh
cant get my throttle speed ajuster 2 work any help would be app
this video helped me thanks Dave
Also, seen at 3:24 above the primer bulb, there is a hex nut. When the engine starts, it automatically moves the throttle to running speed. When you kill the mower, it gives itself full throttle. You can start your mower and gradually tighten that screw until the desired idle speed is reached.
wow!!! you read the manual!!!
Great info! Thans, Dave.
@ringbolt9 you can make the wire link longer by shortening the loop on it which will raise the overall speed
great video dave. how about one on adjusting b and Stratton governors? i learn so much watching you
Can you please make a tutorial to on how to remove the adjuster and put them back on… this would be so helpful.. i would like to see you do it to the second mower with the switch.
@ClassicTVMan81 no there isnt but how would that help but the engine blew days later so its over and i bought a new engine for it.
Dave, could you please follow this up by showing the Toro TNT100/120 and Sears ECV100 engines and their unique carburetors? The earliest of the ECV and TNT series had automatic chokes, as did the LAV mower engines of the ’60s-’70s.
i have a tecumseh engine it was runnin perfect for 10 min and out of nowhere it just redlined and went full throttle. Anyone no whats wrong? maybe the governor gear broke or what?
do you know what would cause an engine to overspeed or overclock on an engine? Aren’t the linkages all the same for tecumsehs?
@zerofactor17
How about installing a fuel filter is there isn’t one on your engine already?
Maximum speed on lawnmowers is governed by blade size, as there is a max safe blade tip speed (19,000ft/s)
Usually the maximum safe speed of most engines is the same RPM at which the engine’s peak HP rating is developed at, which is 3600. Most of these as to their use on lawn mowers are fine in the 30/3200 rpm range. It’s usually on tillers that 4000 rpm may be suitable.
hi dave i have a tecumseh eager-1 pushmower that when you prime it no gas comes in the carb but it will start with starting fluid but you have to warm it up can you or somebody help me i do work on engines but do not have the time nor money to spend on a new carb i have cleaned it and it looks ok the story is that i got it from my aunt when she had it and i got it started and the primer worked for 1 day and then it woudnlt work the next day and yes i am jabbing the primer
i got a 1960’s tecumseh/kirby is how made them back then over here runs well
Never do that unless you have a digital rev counter! These engines have an alloy rod and no oil pump at all, if you rev them over 4000 rpm you will end up with a big hole in the crankcase. Their safe speed is about 3000 rpm
thanks dave. saw this video awhile back and now i finally had to use it. stupid tecumseh was running at WOT all the time.
this video helped me get my mower running again! thanks!
Nice work. keep it up. mean time come for social media marketing for esteembpo**com LK’LK
Agreed, PULL TO START Hmmm WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO???
i have the speed adjustment setting, but the spring and linkage arms are not connected. where do these connect on the carb?
Saved me $300 from buying a new mower. Thanks!!!!
