I had one on 1970 and there are 2 lobes on the crank shaft. One I think on top is for the exhaust and the bottom for the in take. It is basically self aligning but the magneto must be lined up on the shaft and the oil pump hooked in. The pick up on the fly wheel must make a spark around the pistons top dead center I think this is the only timing
