Yes I can use an OBDII scanner, but that’s not what I mean. Other cars can check their engine codes by counting the number of blinks of the check engine light after a specific key on/off cycle.
Can Mazdas do this? More specifically the Mazda3?

My 1990 Honda CRX DX’s stock engine was swapped out for the D16Y7 engine. The engine light is on. My 2000 Civic’s engine light was on so I took it into Schucks and they gave me that engine light reader that you plug into another plug under the steering wheel near the fuse box down [...]

2.EVAP canister or hose cracked/not connected
3.Purge or vent solenoid defective
4.Vacuum leak at engine

Can we check them ourselves?

(2010 Ford Focus–400 miles)The dealer does not think it is the gas cap, as he has checked this, but says it maybe coming from somewhere else. He says the vapor leak causes the engine light to come on….and gas vapor can be smelled near the gas cap vicinity, without opening the cap– after it has [...]

When I personally changed the o2 sensors, I still get the same error code that the o2 sensors are bad, but they are brand new and the check engine light stays on. I even tried to remove the battery terminals and then put them back on to reset and still nothing. What do [...]
