How does an engine replacement affect the value of my car?

I have a 2005 Mazda 6 with 53,000 miles which recently had to have the engine replaced due to a messed up oil change. The dealership replaced the engine with a salvage title. The newer engine was the same year, but fewer miles. How does this affect the resale value of my car? Will it help or hurt? and if it hurts it, by how much??
The car title is still clear, but the engine was a salvage engine.

Well I hope you like your car because people will usually turn their nose up at a car that has had the engine replaced. More than likely you will get a new title now stating that it’s a salvage. So yes your resell value will hurt in the long run.

just keep track on what the original mileage was on the swapped motor and subtract it from what the odometer is reading and go by the value in Kelly’s blue book and you should pretty much find out what the car is worth, but don’t for get to add and subtract what the car has when you look at the book
