@MrJp990
Wait a few more years and there might be a flying D-series. I agree with others that it’s OK that this very rare original stays on the ground.
@MrJp990
Yes. Remarkably, the original engine remained with this aircraft even while it sat derelict outside for many years. The engine was restored to running condition, but this plane has not been flown since AAF testing and the museum that owns it will also not fly it. I agree to not fly since this is a rare original, and one or two D-series projects might get one in the air some day. The prop isn’t original, but the plane’s original wide-blade prop has been located in a private collection.

Wat. We kicked out the Fritzes before ‘44-’45 winter, dude. At this time they could have hemorroids with that engine on their autobahns or at Ardennes, not Soviet land.
beeroosterm ,i doubt many german airmen swore allegance to the supreme commander of the wehrmacht, since they were members of the luftwaffe. i do believe that the only personell that swore direct allegience to hitler were members of the ss, since after his death they were allowed to lay down their arms even though they fought on. your abrasive posts prove that you are a textbook super hero with a lack of social skills and a questionable intelligence.
@terryjohn

That would really suck to be the guy having to crank that engine over in Russia in the Winter of 44-45.
@Bagheera2 – As I said, I understand and agree with their reasons for not flying it… but i’d still love to see it, just once!
