Engineering is considered to be one of those degrees which are very tough to grab. The students with graduation or post graduation degrees in engineering are generally referred to as few of the most intelligent minds of the society. A good education is surely the best ways, by which a person can form a good future. For this, a student has to put in a lot of efforts, to achieve the degree of his choice. The students have different choices, in terms of what they want to become, or what is their dream career. Engineering forms the most preferred career option by the cream of the society. The number of students opting for engineering courses in India has increased and so has the corresponding colleges. The number of colleges in India, providing career in engineering to students has increased.

Engineering is a course, which has set standards, and to take admission in that course, a student has to fit to those particular standards. To take admission in the engineering courses, a student has to prove his capabilities, and define a position for himself in the respective colleges of India. There are many engineering colleges in India, but few colleges like Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Technical University, Indraparastha University, etc. have topped the charts and are recognised as the most prestigious engineering institutes in India.

Taking admission in an engineering college in India is no more an easy task. The student needs to clear a number of steps of the entrance test to secure a seat for himself in one of the renowned Engineering colleges of India. The level of these entrance examinations vary according to the standard of the college and the number of seats available in the respective college. Following is a list of few of the engineering entrance examinations, which can be taken by a student to fulfil his dream of pursuing a degree in engineering:

v     Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers

v     Jawaharlal Nehru University Engineering Entrance Exam

v     Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology Entrance Exam

v     Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

v     National Institute of Technology

v     Birla Institute of Technology and Science Examination

v     SRM Engineering Entrance Exam

v     International Institute of Information Technology -Post Graduate Entrance Exam

v     Associate Membership of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers

v     Indian Institute of Maritime Studies (IIMS) Entrance Exam

v     Madhya Pradesh Pre Engineering Test

v     Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam

v     Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

v     Bharati Vidyapeeth Engineering Entrance Exam

All these entrance examinations tests the students on the basis of their knowledge in subjects like Physics, Chemisty, mathsa and English. These subjects are the basics of any engineering form, due to which students must possess accurate information and learning in these subject. Questions in these entrance examinations judge the analytical skills of the students so that they are able to do justice with the course subjects in future. This is not the only round, there are two more rounds called group discussion and the personal interview, after which the student finally gets to enter in his dream college of engineering in India. The different fields in which a student can opt for his engineering course are chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, biotechnical engineering. The career graph of an engineer is surely very bright. With the tag of a renowned engineering college, he can get a good job in a big firm, paving the way for his flourishing career. Thus, if the student follows a structured and a planned route from the beginning instilled with hard and smart work, then he can surely achieve his goals in the set period of time.
